Update Failed: OnlyCat Firmware Recovery

OnlyCat will typically install software updates automatically.

In rare cases where such installation fails, and where you have been advised to do so by support, you may follow the steps below to attempt recovery of the device software.

Enter USB MSC Mode on the Device

1. Press the button (circled) once to bring up the Setup Menu.
2. Press the button again three times to make the selector move down to "USB MSC".
3. Press and hold the same button to select.

Alternatively, pressing and holding the setup button for 15 seconds should cause OnlyCat to reboot and enter USB MSC mode.

Copy over the provided firmware update

1. Connect OnlyCat to a laptop or computer via a suitable USB Type C cable.
2. OnlyCat should show as an external storage device under the name "OnlyCat"
3. Drag the provided firmware file to this storage device. After a few seconds, OnlyCat should start to update its software.
