Camera not showing in the app when trying to scan QR code?

Typically this has to do with your mobile device's permissions rather than the OnlyCat app itself.


You will need to make sure that the OnlyCat app has your device's camera permission

iPhone (iOS)


Step 1 — Try Inside the OnlyCat App First

  1. Open the OnlyCat app.
  2. Tap the “+” button in the top menu.
  3. If prompted with:“OnlyCat Would Like to Access the Camera”
  4. Tap Allow.

You’re done.


Step 2 — Turn Camera On in iPhone Settings

If you tapped Don’t Allow before, or no popup appears:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone (gray gear icon).
  2. Scroll down and tap OnlyCat.
  3. Tap Camera.
  4. Turn the toggle ON (it should be green).

If you don’t see Camera listed:

  1. Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera
  2. Find OnlyCat
  3. Turn it ON

Samsung Galaxy (Android)


Step 1 — Try Inside the OnlyCat App First

  1. Open the OnlyCat app.
  2. Tap the “+” button in the top menu.
  3. When prompted, tap:
    • Allow
    • Select Allow only while using the app (recommended)


Step 2 — Turn Camera On in Phone Settings

If camera access was previously denied:

  1. Open your phone’s Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap OnlyCat.
  4. Tap Permissions.
  5. Tap Camera.
  6. Select Allow only while using the app.

Google Pixel (Android)


Step 1 — Try Inside the OnlyCat App First

  1. Open the OnlyCat app.
  2. Tap the “+” button in the top menu.
  3. Tap Allow when prompted.
  4. Choose Allow only while using the app.


Step 2 — Turn Camera On in Phone Settings

  1. Open your phone’s Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap See all apps.
  4. Tap OnlyCat.
  5. Tap Permissions.
  6. Tap Camera.
  7. Select Allow only while using the app.

If It Still Doesn’t Work


Inside your phone’s Settings app:

  • Make sure Camera access isn’t turned off globally:
    • Android: Settings → Privacy → Camera access → Turn ON
  • Restart your phone.
  • Update the OnlyCat app.
