# Where can I find the Installation Instructions and User Guides?

Your OnlyCat comes with a **QR code** that links directly to our **Getting Started Guide**:

[OnlyCat Quick Start Guide](https://www.onlycat.com/quick-start/)

If you’ve already installed your OnlyCat and want to **configure the app**, you can go straight here:

[App Setup Guide](https://www.onlycat.com/getting-started-app-setup/)

These guides will help you get your OnlyCat up and running smoothly.
## Choose the guide for your installation
The current OnlyCat website is the source of truth for installation instructions. Choose the guide for your surface:
* [Wood or plastic doors](https://www.onlycat.com/installation-guide-doors/). If the door contains metal, ask Support to confirm the requirements before cutting. Do not install into a fire-rated door.
* [Glass](https://www.onlycat.com/installation-guide-glass/). Work with a glazier and confirm the mounting adaptor for an existing opening.
* [Walls](https://www.onlycat.com/installation-guide-walls/). Follow the wall-specific adaptor and tunnel-extender instructions.
Connect and test the powered device and Wi-Fi in the intended location before permanent fitting. For cable management, use our [power cable routing guide](https://help.onlycat.com/en/article/what-is-the-best-way-to-route-the-power-cable-pfnqa4/).
## Set up the app, cats and household
Follow the [current app setup guide](https://www.onlycat.com/getting-started-app-setup/). From Devices, use the add button and follow setup prompts. After fitting, a cat’s microchip can appear with its approach event; give each cat a name and profile. Add a Door Policy, set entry/exit permissions and allowed hours, then save and activate it. The active policy is shown with a blue background.
To invite another household member, open the people control on the device page and create an invitation link. They sign in using their own account. For ownership transfers or unresolved access problems, contact Support.
Training mode needs care: enabling it on an existing policy keeps the lock permanently unlocked. When creating a training policy you can add prey detection, but it may not lock in time. See our [training guide](https://help.onlycat.com/en/article/my-cat-is-afraid-of-locking-sounds-what-can-i-do-1ifze14/) before using it.

## Everyday app controls

**Phone notifications:** open **Account → Push notifications**. Phone alerts and the flap alarm have separate controls.

**Flap alarm:** manage this in your **door policy rule settings**. If an alert is unclear, tell Support whether it comes from the phone or the device; you do not need to change both sets of settings.

**Which policy is active?** The active policy has a **blue background**. OnlyCat checks its rules from top to bottom and stops after the first satisfied rule. See [Active policy and rule order](https://help.onlycat.com/en/article/understanding-your-active-door-policy-and-rule-order-15qgm66/) before combining rules or changing training behaviour.

**Sharing an event with Support:** open the event → **Share Event Link** → paste the link into your existing support conversation. To report a prey misdiagnosis, open **event → Detection Status** and flag it there.

**Deleting videos:** bulk video deletion is not currently supported. Videos must be deleted individually; do not look for an undocumented bulk-delete option.

**Sharing household access:** use the people control on the device page to create an invitation link. Each invited person uses their own account. See [Sharing your device with friends or family](https://help.onlycat.com/en/article/can-i-share-my-device-with-friends-or-family-ijnv6y/). Sharing access is different from selling the device or transferring ownership.

**Indoor-only cats and introductions:** choose an appropriate locked policy before introducing cats if you need to keep an indoor-only cat safe. Let cats investigate at their own pace. Enabling training mode on an existing policy keeps the lock permanently unlocked; do not assume it will still enforce the previous restrictions.

**Subscriptions and upgrades:** see [Managing your subscription, upgrade and device transfer](https://help.onlycat.com/en/article/managing-your-subscription-upgrade-and-device-transfer-14amwgz/) for the app path and when Support needs to review a case.

The app is available for iPhone, Android and in a [web browser](https://onlycat.app/). Follow the [current app setup guide](https://www.onlycat.com/getting-started-app-setup/) for initial connection and cat-profile setup; contact Support if the displayed controls differ.
